Meet Margaret Short
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
As a dedicated behavior analyst, I am deeply committed to helping families create nurturing, positive home environments. My goal is to empower families by providing tailored, evidence-based programs that address each family's unique needs and challenges. By developing individualized strategies and interventions, I strive to foster lasting behavioral change that enhances family dynamics, improves communication, and supports the overall well-being of every family member. I am passionate about working collaboratively with families to ensure that the solutions I introduce are not only effective but also sustainable, enabling families to thrive together in a supportive and harmonious environment.

MY APPROACH
As a behavior analyst, one of my core strengths is guiding parents in the development and implementation of individualized behavior plans designed to address a range of challenging behaviors, such as tantrums, outbursts, aggression, and property destruction. I work closely with families to understand the root causes of these behaviors, taking into account each child’s unique needs, strengths, and challenges. By conducting thorough assessments, I can help identify triggers and patterns, which then inform the creation of tailored interventions that promote positive behavioral change.
I empower parents with the tools and techniques they need to effectively manage challenging behaviors in real-time. This includes using proactive strategies to prevent escalation, as well as teaching them how to respond consistently and effectively during difficult moments. A key part of my work is not only reducing undesirable behaviors but also helping parents teach their children replacement behaviors that foster emotional regulation, tolerance for frustration, and resilience in the face of disappointment.
Whether it's teaching a child to use appropriate communication skills when upset, engage in self-soothing techniques, or develop coping strategies for difficult tasks, I work alongside parents to ensure that these skills become an integrated part of daily life.
Additionally, I focus on strengthening family routines and reinforcing positive behaviors that support both the child and the overall family dynamic. By creating a supportive, structured environment, I help families build confidence in their ability to handle challenging situations, making the home a place of stability, growth, and connection.
